Vitafull MK and Vitafull Senior MK
The accelerated rhythm of life today is more and more demanding of a wholesome, balanced diet that includes all the vitamins and minerals necessary for a healthy life style.
Vitafull MK and Vitafull Senior Mk are multivitamin and mineral supplements that now include Lutein and Lycopene, two beta- carotenes that complement its formula.
They help to look better and to feel better!
Lutein is a beta-carotene that is found in vegetables and fruits. It is not synthesized by the body and preferably should be obtained from food, or in its deficiency, from supplements.
Benefits of Lutein:
- A natural carotenoid used to help improve ocular health, especially in people with macular degeneration related to age and cataracts.
- A potent antioxidant for the elimination of free radicals and the absorption of blue light.
- Lutein is concentrated in the peripheral part of the retina.
- The macular concentration of Lutein is so high that it is observed as a yellow color called macular pigment.
Recommendations:
Lutein can be obtained by consuming 5 or more portions of fruits and vegetables daily. The Lutein supplements shouldn’t be used for the treatment of vitamin A deficiency. The dose used to prevent macular degeneration is 10mg daily.
Lycopene is a pigment produced by plants to protect them from the effects of sunlight and oxidation. Its properties are similar to those of beta-carotenes in carrots and it’s found especially in tomatoes. The consumption of tomato products that contain Lycopene is of significant benefit to health and can be attributed to the combinations of nutrients that are naturally present in this fruit.
Lycopene is the principal carotenoid of the tomato and contributes to this effect, although knowledge of its exact role will require further research.
Benefits of Lycopene:
- Tomato products have demonstrated their capacity to provide bioavailable Lycopene and to increase the plasma levels of this substance.
- There exists very little data to support health benefits from the use of Lycopene alone. The majority of the clinical studies with tomato product suggest a synergistic action of Lycopene with other nutrients in the decrease of oxidative stress biomarkers.
- Supplementation with tomato products that contain Lycopene has demonstrated a decrease in the oxidative stress biomarkers in healthy persons, Type II Diabetics and in patients suffering from prostate cancer.
- The presence of Lycopene in the prostate, in biologically active concentrations, can have a beneficial effect.
Recommendations:
Lycopene, at doses similar to the human consumption, is Generally Recognized As Safe ( GRAS) when used as an ingredient or is added to a variety of foods or supplements.
Warnings
Don’t take supplements of Lycopene while pregnant or while lactating. Its better to acquire this substance from food during this time.
When a multivitamin with minerals is needed, ask for the new formula of Vitafull MK and Vitafull Senor MK. Feel good within and see better without!
